The Circus

I came across a blog a few days ago by Amy called Tie One On and she posted an apron theme: The Circus. I was interested in participating, but I wasn't sure if I would meet the deadline (September 5th) and this would actually be my first apron submission to participate in winning a Book Giveaway. So I said "What the heck!! Why not, right?" And so I did! I wanted this to be colorful since bright colors was the first thing that came to mind.

I opted for simple, colorful, and different...
The Circus Apron
The red, blue and yellow stripes reminded me of a circus tent. I centered the pocket and added green flags.  I wanted the pocket to look like a circus tent. Also, instead of going with a flat ruffle, I decided to cut it and make it into flags just like the pocket accents. I'm not sure what's going on with my camera, so the colors aren't showing very good.
The Circus
I didn't want to add many pleats on the apron, so I only added one big pleat on both sides being that I wanted the pocket to stand out. I had fun sewing this apron even though I was in a hurry to finish and submit it by the deadline. Geez, talk about crunch time...

Looking forward on participating on future Show and Tells over at Tie One On. I'm anxious to see who wins the book giveaway (chosen randomly). Wish me luck!!!
