Rockabilly

Cherries and Polka Dots
Well, well, well...look who's back into the sewing world! Yes, I have been long gone for quite a while but slowly emerging back into my old roots! A quick recap on what and where I have been goes something like this: going on my third year in college, I officially have a teenager (my daughter), critiquing clay sculptures (my sons newest hobby), moved to a nice apartment with my kiddos, and now trying to get back into what once kept my sanity in place! Sewing and crafting!

Hello June!

Finally, you have arrived! Yay! Oh how I've been waiting for you! Yes, it's my Birthday month. I shall do whatever my little heart desires this entire month. I'm not holding back. I have a few things planned so far and just going with the flow the rest of the time.

Enjoying my time off from school. And I'm set to start my online summer class in a few weeks. Oh, by the way, I passed my first semester class with a...wait for it...wait for it..."A"! That's right! I am very proud of myself. Going back to college was one of the most gratifying things I could've done. Feels great!

Now to enjoy the beautiful weather Southern California has in store for us! Happy Summer!

Farewell Tie One On...

Sniff, sniff...going to miss you!
I have been constantly checking over at Tie One On to see what the next apron theme would be. Haven't seen one in quite awhile and have been anxiously waiting for the new theme. So to my surprise, Amy has retired the Tie One On Apron Themes! Sniff, sniff! I thanked her on her blog post for having this apron theme gig going on for such a long time. I came across her blog a few years ago and I'm glad I participated in a few apron themes.

And to end this sad blog post with a happy ending...check out one of my aprons that I submitted for the Paris apron theme! It was featured on her blog post! Au revoir...

Polka Dots & Chevron

Guess what came in the mail today??? Yup, a package! And what's in the package??? Yup, an apron! Yay!

I received my apron today from Kaara, my apron swap partner, over at In The Kitch With Kaara. Her blog has a lot of neat stuff, from recipes to DIY projects. And she sells cute jewelry on Etsy, Poppie Darling.

Colorful Polka Dots

This was the last Apron Swap for 2013. It was nice to end the year sewing and getting back into the groove. I was partnered up with Kaara from In The Kitch With Kaara.

I did my best to fulfill her request on her apron likes. I think I did pretty good:

She likes turquoise, orange, pink, red, ruffles and half aprons. And as an added bonus, it's a reversible apron. It's hard to tell, but the apron is scalloped at the bottom. Hope she likes it. I also included a few goodies along with her apron!

Thank you Katherines Corner for hosting this apron swap!

Happy New Year!

Confetti Eggs

Colorful confetti eggs.
I had bought confetti eggs for my kids before. And boy did they have fun cracking them on each other's head. I decided to make my own for them and collected 3 1/2 dozen eggs. Phew! Took a few months to get that amount.

Before & After...Abstract Dress

I cleaned out my closet over the weekend. Some spring cleaning in the winter. Why not, right?! Had piles for keeping, donation, and maybe keeping. So the maybe keeping pile turned into a project pile.

I decided to recycle some of the clothing pieces I had in the maybe keeping pile. The rest I placed in the donation pile. I wore this dress about 3 years ago...yes, 3 years ago.
