Hello June!

Finally, you have arrived! Yay! Oh how I've been waiting for you! Yes, it's my Birthday month. I shall do whatever my little heart desires this entire month. I'm not holding back. I have a few things planned so far and just going with the flow the rest of the time.

Enjoying my time off from school. And I'm set to start my online summer class in a few weeks. Oh, by the way, I passed my first semester class with a...wait for it...wait for it..."A"! That's right! I am very proud of myself. Going back to college was one of the most gratifying things I could've done. Feels great!

Now to enjoy the beautiful weather Southern California has in store for us! Happy Summer!

Baba the Storyteller

Baba the Storyteller
Segerstrom Center for the Arts provided the most amazing opportunity to have Baba the Storyteller be present in each 5th grade class at my kids school. Baba uses creative ways of storytelling. He's traveled around the world and currently invited back to Columbia to be part of the Festival. How cool is that?!

He's taught the kids how to listen, use presentation voices, have confidence, and most importantly to be themselves. I had the pleasure to be present in my daughters class during Baba time. I was intrigued by the first day. I learned so much by the tools he taught the kids to use. I applied them myself to my daily doings. All I can say is... AMAZING!

Special Thank You Gift...

Dedicated to my therapist Lexi.
About six months ago, I made the decision to seek therapy. I was going through some difficult times in my personal life. Some that I didn't know how to deal with and others that I didn't know I had. Going to see her for my therapy sessions have helped me tremendously. I'm grateful to have had the privilege to be assigned to her. She's a student at Chapman University and is graduating this weekend. So this will be the last week I get to see her. I'm sad but happy at the same time. This will be a test to see how well I deal with change (one thing I've been working on). Sigh.

I decided to make her a special meaningful gift. I made her a small decoupaged piece of my favorite quote:

"Leadership Is The Ability To Transform A Vision Into Reality." ~Warren Bennis

She has left an unforgettable print in my life. I wish her the best out in her new venture! She will do good and I know she will have the same impact on others like she did on me.

Thank You Lexi for showing me who I really am and for helping me find what I'm looking for! You ROCK!!!

Farewell Tie One On...

Sniff, sniff...going to miss you!
I have been constantly checking over at Tie One On to see what the next apron theme would be. Haven't seen one in quite awhile and have been anxiously waiting for the new theme. So to my surprise, Amy has retired the Tie One On Apron Themes! Sniff, sniff! I thanked her on her blog post for having this apron theme gig going on for such a long time. I came across her blog a few years ago and I'm glad I participated in a few apron themes.

And to end this sad blog post with a happy ending...check out one of my aprons that I submitted for the Paris apron theme! It was featured on her blog post! Au revoir...

It's Spring Time...

Beautiful day to release the butterflies!
Spring is in the air...flowers blooming, birds chirping, butterflies flying and allergy season galore! My kids had captured some caterpillars and soon turned into their chrysalis. They hatched about 2 weeks later...

Great Night for NBX...

Nails By Xo at A.C.E.
The Art Crawl Experience (A.C.E.) festival was amazing! I had such an awesome time! It sure was an eventful night. I was busy the entire time doing nail art on all sorts of A.C.E. attendees...ranging from kids to men! Yeah, men! Way cool!

What a great experience to be able to be part of this. I truly enjoyed it and didn't even feel the coldness of the night! To view photos of the event, visit Art Crawl Experience (A.C.E.). And to view the nail art I did through out the night, visit Nail By Xo.
