Before & After...Abstract Dress
I cleaned out my closet over the weekend. Some spring cleaning in the winter. Why not, right?! Had piles for keeping, donation, and maybe keeping. So the maybe keeping pile turned into a project pile.
I decided to recycle some of the clothing pieces I had in the maybe keeping pile. The rest I placed in the donation pile. I wore this dress about 3 years ago...yes, 3 years ago.

Sister Sister
I've been in full sewing mode...oh yeah! Loving it! A friend of mine asked if I could sew some aprons for her daughters. One as a birthday gift and the other as a Christmas gift. Of course I could do that! She requested full aprons and gave me color preferences for each and the rest was left up to me to decide...yikes!

National Tie One On Day 2013
It's that time of year again! Thanksgiving is a day away. You know what that means??? Aprons!!! Yeah, it's National Tie One On Day! This year I only did two aprons. But of course, they went to two very special people.
I'm back into sewing and was looking forward to doing this again. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to doing it last year and I wasn't going to let it happen again this year. So with that being said, here are the apron beauties:

Happy Teen Birthday Anyssa!
My very good friends daughter, Anyssa, hit the big "T" or "13"...yup, the Teens! It was a Candyland Theme. So you can imagine, it was candy galore at the party! I decided to make her a fun birthday apron, but keeping very fab & hip for a teen!
Went with a flowy mini apron, which could be used just for fun or for some fun in the kitchen! Some of the ballon prints say Happy Birthday on them. So it was perfect! Hope she liked it!
Happy Birthday Anyssa!

Sherbert Flowers
This is the awesome package I received from Jennifer at Our Laughing Place. It included a colorful apron, of course, 101 Things to do with a slow cooker book, note sheets, sharpies, and colorful tape.
I was way over due for a swap and to be sporting a new apron!
Love the bright colors on the apron! |
Thanks Jennifer for my awesome swap package!

National Tie One On Day
It's almost that time of year again to start thinking on whom I'll be gifting some aprons too! This will be my 3rd year participating in National Tie One On Day. I really enjoy doing this. The awesomeness of seeing the reaction of the person receiving this gift...priceless! Visit National Tie One On Day for more details and the meaning behind this special day!

Red Hot Chili Peppers Apron
So I've been MIA for awhile...getting back into the sewing groove and crafting a lot more these days (I'm currently obsessed with decoupaging!). I've been wanting to join a swap lately. So with that being said, I signed up for Favorite Things Swap at Flirty Apron Swap.

Before & After...Angels T-Shirt
It's baseball season once again! Haven't been able to make it to an Angels ball game yet, but it's being planned...soon! So I had bought this Angels t-shirt at a thrift shop (love thrift shops). Obviously big for me but couldn't pass up not getting it. For $5...um...gotta have it!

Welcome Lynda!
Meet Lynda, my new sewing dress form. |
Now that I'm back into sewing mode...I'm pacing myself again on sewing aprons. Joy! I've been wanting to buy a sewing dress form and FINALLY found one and got a great deal too! Thanks to Craigslist!!!
So I have named her Lynda. After the friendly lady that sold me the mannequin. Seeing what the actual apron looks like on someone else is going to be a lot easier. Not that I mind modeling my aprons but for picture purposes, Lynda is going to come in handy! Enjoy the aprons Lynda!!!
